You Are Not Worthless: What God Says vs. What You Feel

Have you ever looked at your life and quietly wondered, "Do I really have any value?"

Maybe someone treated you like you were disposable. Maybe rejection found you, or grief moved in and never quite left, or years of criticism piled up until you started believing you just don't matter.

Here's what I need you to hear before you read another word: feeling worthless does not mean you are worthless.

When Feelings Lie

For years, I felt like a failure. Worthless. Like I couldn't finish anything or do anything right. That feeling stuck to me like an adhesive bandage I couldn't peel off, no matter how many times I tried.

Here's what I've learned since then: your feelings deserve to be acknowledged. They're real, and they matter. But they were never meant to become your identity. Feelings can tell you that you're wounded. They cannot tell you who you are.

That distinction changed everything for me, and it's the reason this whole ministry exists. Because as I became more aware of who God created me to be, it started shedding light on the lies I'd been carrying for years. Lies that were never mine to keep in the first place.

What God Actually Says About You

Let's start here: Isaiah 43:4: "You are precious to God... you have been honored, and I have loved you."

Before the creation of time, God knew your name, your birth, your purpose. When self-doubt creeps back in, this is the verse to return to.

Psalm 139:13-14 backs it up: "You formed my inward parts... I am fearfully and wonderfully made."You are not an accident. Not a mistake. Not defective — even on the days you can list a hundred things wrong with yourself.

Ephesians 2:10 calls you God's workmanship like a craftsman's finest, most intentional work. Your life has meaning beyond what you currently feel or see.

And in Luke 12:6-7, we're reminded, "Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins, and not one of them is forgotten before God? You are of more value than many sparrows."

I think about that verse every time I watch birds outside my office circling back again and again to the same building, the same spot, never quite landing. Isn't that so often us? Circling back to the same empty relationships, the same self-talk, and the same old habits, searching for something that was only ever going to come from God in the first place.

You Were Bought at a Price

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us we were bought at a price: not silver, not gold, not our achievements. Christ gave Himself for us. And Romans 5:8 reminds us He didn't wait for us to get it together first: "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

You don't have to wait until you're "fixed" to come to Him. You can do it now.

The Labels Were Never Yours to Keep

The labels we carry as women, and honestly, as anyone, often started back in childhood. It's time for them to come off. You need to know who you are in Christ, not who others have said you are, and not even what you've told yourself in your worst moments.

The labels that actually belong to you sound like this: righteous. Loved. Forgiven. Purposeful. God is with you.
