Did you know?

This morning, I woke up to no power. Some storms rolled through last night, and so we were all in the dark.

I am an early riser by nature. So the quietness of the morning starts my day off on the right foot. But his morning was different. No power meant no sound, no cool air from the air conditioner. I could not get online. (I could have used my phone but I was saving my battery since it had not fully charged.)

So what do you do? Go back to bed? Twiddle your thumbs? Find something you could do? Or somewhere you could go?

Well, I had a flashlight, my bible, and a pen. I took some time trying to figure out what I should do. Well, it was put on my heart to read some of Isaiah and write the verses. I love the Bible; there is so much knowledge, lessons, and God's love in the pages. But to be honest, I favor the New Testament over the Old Testament. But I felt it in my spirit, Isaiah, so I began to not just read the verses but to write key verses that seemed to resonate with me.

I had a whole new view of the book. The prophecies of the words that God Almighty had spoken about us, His children, about the coming days, and about what Jesus would go through for us. It was truly eye-opening.

Isaiah 54:9-10

These are like the days of Noah for me,

when I promised that Noah’s waters would never again cover the earth.

Likewise I promise not to rage against you or rebuke you.

10The mountains may shift,

and the hills may be shaken,

but my faithful love won’t shift from you,

and my covenant of peace won’t be shaken,

says the LORD, the one who pities you.

11Suffering one, storm-tossed, uncomforted,

look, I am setting your gemstones in silvery metal

and your foundations with sapphires.

12I will make your towers of rubies,

and your gates of beryl,

and all your walls of precious jewels.

13All your children will be disciples of the LORD—

I will make peace abound for your children.

14You will be firmly founded in righteousness.

You will stay far from oppression because you won’t fear,

far from terror because it won’t come near you

God makes a covenant. He does not lie and can not lie. He loves you, and no matter what you think you have done, He is always there for you to forgive you and to love you.
